The Sacred Spring in Nusa Penida, Bali




There are 8 famous springs in Bali, often called "Asta Gangga", which is on the cliff side and close to the sea. One of them is Guyangan Spring, located in Nusa Penida which is a source of water for the local community. This place is also used as a spiritual destination. Its place is sacred and has a unique history. The Guyangan spring is on the western side of Nusa Penida island, precisely in Guyangan Banjars, Batu Kandik Village. The distance is about 25 kilometers from the city center with a travel time of about 40 minutes. Road conditions are still damaged but it's not a problem for tourists who want to see the beauty of this spring. Located on a cliff's edge, surrounded by tall, steep cliffs, coves and small islands. To get to these springs you must be mentally and physically prepared because the location is at 200 meters below a steep cliff with an 85-degree slope and passing a vertical route. There are 700 more ladders made of iron, wood, and concrete, a route length of about 1 kilometer with a travel time of 30 minutes. This journey greatly spurred adrenaline because of its steep position, with huge waves hitting the cliffs around it, but when you get there you will see the exotic scenery, like the beautiful blue sea, surrounded by cliffs and springs that are clear. There is also a pelinggih (place of worship) which is believed to be the place of Kanjeng Ratu Kidul and serve as a spiritual tourist spot. There are often people who practice spiritual meditation.
